ACI Reveals SNAP Award Winners

Students at Litchfield Middle School in Litchfield, Minn., were named the winners of the 2019 Healthy Schools, Healthy People, It’s a SNAP National Award.

The annual award is a collaborative initiative between the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to promote handwashing through the School Network for Absenteeism Prevention (SNAP). The Litchfield students developed a science project demonstrating the growth of germs on surfaces and read stories to preschool students encouraging proper hand hygiene.

As the winners of the award, the students and their faculty adviser traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with their Congressional representatives and ACI staff.
