Jodi Vanderpool has received the 2017 Health Care Administration Award from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

APIC’s award is given to recognize an individual that plays a critical role in establishing the culture of infection prevention in an organization. Vanderpool is the vice president of quality at St. Luke’s Health Systems in Boise, ID. The award is being presented to Vanderpool based on her extensive support and dedication to keeping the hospital systems fully staffed, providing resources, pushing infection prevention programming, and implementing new hand-hygiene protocol. The hand-hygiene program she implemented achieved a 90 percent compliance rate, according to Infection Control Today.

The award will be presented APIC’s 44th-annual conference this week.
