ATRA Janitorial Supply Co., Inc. hosted a seminar for New Jersey-based directors of educational facilities last month at Galloping Hill Country Club in Kenilworth, NJ.

Approximately 250 cleaning professionals representing more than 200 New Jersey school districts attended the half-day seminar, making it one of the largest gatherings of New Jersey school district officials ever. The event, titled “Using Technology to Achieve Sustainability in Your School,” focused on helping facility managers attain their cleaning goals by using the latest technologies to implement green cleaning programs and sustainability solutions.

ATRA submitted the seminar’s programs to the New Jersey Schools Buildings and Grounds Association (NJSBGA) Education Committee for certification. All attendees of the event received four continuing education units—or CEUs—from the NJSBGA. The event featured four keynote sessions led by the following presenters: Tony Crisafulli, president of ATRA; Dana Pawlak, ATRA area manager; Keith Gourlay, executive director of NJSBGA; Flavia R. da Silva-Benson, vice president of EarthSafe Chemical Alternatives; Rob Glassmeyer, president of Intelligent Cleaning Equipment; and CMI Education Manager Mark Warner.

According to Crisafulli, the event was well received by all attendees. “The feedback we received was overwhelming,” he said. “This came verbally from a tremendous amount of the attendees, in addition to multiple emails and text messages. Also, through our registration program, after the workshop we sent a survey out to the attendees and received 100 responses with extremely positive feedback and great appreciation.”
