BICSc Announces 2017 Award Winners

The British Institute for Cleaning Science (BICSc) presented the following member awards at its 2017 Annual Awards Dinner, September 14, at Whittlebury Hall Hotel and Spa in Northamptonshire, England.

The Sholom Gordon Award
The Sholom Gordon Award, which honors an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to the institute and the cleaning industry, was given to Liz Smith-Mills.

The Eric Hill Medal
The Eric Hill Medal, which is awarded to an individual who has made a great contribution to training and education, was presented to Elaine Upton.

The Ayres Regional Award
The Ayres Regional Award honoring the BICSc region that has promoted the institute the most over the year was given to BICSc North East Region.

The Colin Hasson International Award
This award honoring an individual or organization for promoting BICSc training and standards outside the United Kingdom was presented to Andrea Yoko.

The Client Commitment to Training Award
The Client Commitment to Training Award recognizes BICSc clients that exhibit high levels of support for their contractors. This year’s award was given to Birkin Cleaning Services, Ltd.

The Award for Excellence in Training and Assessment within an Accredited Training Establishment 
This award, which recognizes excellence in training and assessment within the prison industry, was presented to HMP Addiewell.

The Award for Excellence in Training and Assessment Within an Accredited Training Organization 
This award, which honors exceptional training and developments within an accredited training organization approved to deliver BICSc assessment schemes and training courses, was presented to Ronald O’Neill of Manchester Metropolitan University.
