The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that influenza activity in the United States, while still elevated, has reached its peak and begun to show signs of declining.

The CDC’s weekly report found six states experienced low activity in flu-like illness for the week ending February 24, while three states—Florida, Maine, and Montana—saw minimal activity. Five percent of all visits to health care professionals were for flu-related illnesses, compared to 6.5 percent the previous week.
