Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) has successfully completed certification to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB).

To earn CIMS certification, the United Arab Emirates-based hospital underwent a comprehensive assessment by an accredited CIMS assessor. During the assessment, CCAD demonstrated its compliance with the five core principles of the standard: quality systems; service delivery; human resources; health, safety, and environmental stewardship; and management commitment.

Compliance with the CIMS-GB criteria illustrates CCAD’s commitment to delivering green and sustainable cleaning programs. The CIMS-GB designation helps CCAD provide its customers with precisely what they need to secure points under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance―or LEED EB: O&M―Green Building Rating System, while greening operations overall.

Rosemary Chisholm, CIMS auditor, said, “The facility combines state-of-the-art amenities and world-class service standards. CCAD has implemented many innovative programs—such as an organization-wide recycling program—and has an energy efficiency and environmental policy in place. Following my evaluation and inspections, I have no hesitation in recommending CCAD to be granted CIMS-GB certification.”
