CRI Extends Voluntary Product Stewardship Program

The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), Inc. has extended its Voluntary Product Stewardship (VPS) program for post-consumer carpet through 2020.
Established in 2014, CRI’s VPS program is a nationwide initiative funding sorters and recyclers that divert post-consumer carpet away from landfills. The program is available throughout the United States, with the exception of municipalities that have Extended Producer Responsibility legislation or other regulations for post-consumer carpet. CRI has diverted more than 5 billion pounds of carpet away from landfills since the program’s inception.
