Eastman Chemical Increases 3rd-Quarter Earnings

Eastman Chemical Co. has reported fiscal-third-quarter earnings of US$517 million, or $2.89 per share, up from $464 million, or $2.22 per share, for the same time period one year ago.
For the quarter, Eastman Chemical posted sales of $2.54 billion, up 4 percent from $2.46 billion in the previous year. Eastman Chemical credited the gains to increased sales volume in the company’s advanced materials and functional products divisions.
