Franciscan St. Francis Health has successfully completed recertification to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) criteria with Honors.

To earn CIMS recertification, Franciscan St. Francis Health’s environmental service operations underwent a comprehensive assessment at its Indianapolis, IN, and Mooresville IN, hospitals by an independent, accredited CIMS assessor. During the assessment, Franciscan St. Francis Health demonstrated its compliance with the five core principles of the Standard: quality systems; service delivery; human resources; health, safety, and environmental stewardship; and management commitment.

Compliance with the CIMS-GB criteria illustrates Franciscan St. Francis Health’s commitment to delivering green and sustainable cleaning programs. The CIMS-GB designation helps the hospitals’ environmental service team provide the facility with what they need to secure points under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance―or LEED EB: O&M―Green Building Rating System, while greening operations overall.

In 2014, Franciscan St. Francis Health became the first self-performed, nongovernmental hospital in the United States to receive CIMS-GB certification.
