Grainger’s 1st-Quarter Sales Rise 9%

W.W. Grainger, Inc. has reported first-quarter sales of US$2.8 billion, an increase of 9 percent year-over-year.

Grainger’s U.S. sales, which account for the majority of the company’s total revenue, increased 8 percent driven by higher sales of seasonal products and overall volume growth. Sales in the company’s Canada division decreased 2 percent while the company’s Other Businesses segment, which includes its operations in Asia, Europe, and Latin America, saw sales climb 18 percent compared to the same time period last year.
