Jane Farrell, head of security for Sodexo, has been elected the first female chair of the International Professional Security Association (IPSA) in the association’s 59-year history.
Farrell has been deputy chair of IPSA since 2014. She was unanimously elected chair at a recent IPSA International Council meeting.
Farrell has been with Sodexo for 35 years and founded the Sodexo Women in Security group to promote greater gender diversity in the role. Earlier this year, she won the transformational leader category at the Northern Power Women Awards for her work in promoting gender balance in the industry. Currently, 17 percent of Sodexo’s security employees are women.
As Head of Security, Farrell is responsible for the company’s security business in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
