The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is now accepting volunteers to serve on a consensus body for the development of a new leather cleaning and maintenance standard.

BSR/IICRC S340 Standard for Professional Cleaning and Maintenance of Leather Furnishings will outline practical standards for the professional cleaning and maintenance of leather furnishings.

The IICRC expects to begin work on the new standard in early 2019, with a proposed completion timeline of approximately two years. Cleaning-industry professionals interested in volunteering for the standard’s consensus body can download application forms from the IICRC’s website.
