Several international product manufacturers announced their commitment to a new shopping platform during last week’s World Economic Forum.

The initiative, Loop, is the idea of New Jersey-based international recycling company TerraCycle, AP reports. Early adopters of the program include ISSA-member companies Procter & Gamble, parent company of Procter & Gamble Professional; Unilever Plc, parent company of Unilever Professional; and the Clorox Co., parent company of Clorox Professional Products Co.

Loop arranges for personal care and cleaning products to be delivered directly to the user’s location in reusable containers made of aluminum, stainless steel or glass. When the user is finished with the products, the containers will be picked up at their door, washed, refilled and then redelivered.

The delivery service will begin in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Paris, France, this spring with about 300 products. TerraCycle expects to increase its number of products and expand its delivery services to the U.S. West Coast; Toronto, Canada; and the United Kingdom by the end of this year or early 2020, and to Japan by the time it hosts the Summer Olympics in July and August 2020.
