New Zealand Bans Use of Microbeads
December 4, 2017Accessible by: anyone
The Cabinet of New Zealand officially approved legislation banning the manufacture and sale of products containing plastic microbeads.
Commonly used in personal care and cleaning products, the minute plastic beads are too small to recycle and do not biodegrade, resulting in a negative ecological impact. New Zealand’s ban will officially go into effect in May 2018, The New Zealand Herald reports.
