The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have confirmed a norovirus outbreak aboard a Holland America cruise ship.

According to the CDC, 58 passengers and 15 crew members aboard the MS Zaandam were stricken with the gastrointestinal illness during an Alaskan trip that began June 18 in Seattle, WA. Cruise officials have quarantined those infected with the virus and the ship increased its cleaning and disinfection protocols to limit the spread of illness. The ship is due back in port July 2, KTOO news reports.
