Norovirus Sickens Hundreds at Florida School

A possible norovirus outbreak has been reported at Hudson Elementary School in Hudson, FL.

School officials report that more than 200 students and faculty have contracted a gastrointestinal illness in the past week. Results of norovirus testing are pending from the local health department, WTVT-TV in Tampa, FL, reports.

In response to the outbreak, school officials have enacted enhanced cleaning procedures. Custodians have been instructed to use germicides on all high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs and desktops. In addition, several after school activities have been canceled.
