While many companies have an increased awareness about water conservation, many are having difficulty reaching their sustainability goals, according to a recent survey by Ecolab, Inc. and sustainability research organization GreenBiz.

Ecolab and Greenbiz surveyed more than 80 companies with revenues higher than US$1 billion; 74 percent said water conservation is an increasing priority, and 88 percent said they would take actionable steps to manage water use during the next three years.

The survey also found despite increasing concern, 44 percent of respondents have yet to implement an actionable plan to achieve their water conservation goals, with 82 percent stating they lacked the tools or expertise to reach said goals.
