The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) have issued a warning to residents of the state’s Rio Grande Valley region over a potential outbreak of the Zika virus.

According to DSHS, the region’s mild winter has led to an increase in the area’s population of mosquitos, which transmit the disease. State health officials are urging testing for those exhibiting symptoms of the virus along with all pregnant women, TechTimes reports
