The World Health Organization (WHO) has released its Global Influenza Strategy 2019-2030.

The document, available as a free download on the WHO website, details the organization’s plan to prevent seasonal influenza, control the spread of the virus from animals to humans, and better prepare for upcoming pandemics.

According to Infection Control Today, the WHO’s strategy has two main goals: to increase global influenza surveillance, preparedness, and response programs and to develop more effective resources to prevent, control, and treat the flu.
